Map, Directions, & Parking

Hooray for Maps!

Behold, whereis.mit.edu. Just search for rooms ("admissions", "10-100"), services ("public parking"), or whatever else you might need!

If you need directions from public transit or major highways, just click directions above. If you need directions from your door, we recommend Google Maps, which also works very well for public transit, walking, and bicycling in the greater Boston area!

If you'd like to print a map you may download one here

Visitor Parking

During the day, Monday through Friday, the Admissions Office provides free parking for visiting prospective students and their families, on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that it is often less of a hassle to get here via public transit if possible!

  • From 7:00 am to 2:30 pm, you may park in the Kresge Parking Lot on Amherst Alley off of Massachusetts Avenue. You must check in with the parking attendant to get a parking pass to display on your dashboard and to get a campus map. If the attendant is not there when you arrive, leave a note on your windshield indicating that you are attending the admissions information session and campus tour.
  • If you arrive after 2:30 or if visitor parking is full, see MIT Parking for information on on-street parking and pay lots near campus. Please note that the Admissions Office cannot reimburse you for parking costs.
  • If you are visiting MIT on a weekend or holiday, parking options are more limited. MIT Parking has more information about open MIT lots (no cost) and public pay lots available on weekends and holidays. Again, please note that MIT Admissions cannot reimburse you for parking costs.
